Is PetPawsRx a licensed pharmacy?

Yes, we are a licensed pharmacy, staffed with licensed pharmacists, giving you the assurance your vaccine and prescription items are handled properly. Our pharmacy is located at 11701 Centennial Road, Suite 2 & 3, La Vista, NE 68128. Further, we are registered with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy ("NABP") and hold their Healthcare Merchant Accreditation. Healthcare Merchant Accreditation is an ongoing accreditation that incorporates continued monitoring verifying that merchants are properly licensed and follow applicable laws and NABP Standards.


Are the medications you sell FDA-approved and pharmacy-grade?

Yes. All prescription medications available through our online pet pharmacy are sourced from reputable manufacturers and meet FDA approval standards. Each product is handled, stored, and shipped according to pharmacy-grade protocols to maintain quality from start to finish. We do not carry compounded or foreign-sourced alternatives. Our pharmacy operates under strict licensing requirements, and every order is reviewed for accuracy. This helps pet owners feel confident that their pet is receiving medication that meets professional standards of safety and reliability.


Is a veterinarian's prescription required to purchase from your pet pharmacy?

Yes. Any prescription medication listed on our website requires a valid veterinarian’s authorization before it can be shipped. During checkout, you’ll be prompted to enter your vet’s contact details so our pharmacy team can request approval directly. If you already have a written prescription, you can mail it after placing your order. This process helps confirm safety and accuracy throughout, especially when managing ongoing treatments. It also allows our team to verify dosage, usage, and compatibility before anything is dispensed or delivered.


How do I order prescription medications for my pet?

Ordering through PetPawsRx is simple. Search for the prescription item your veterinarian recommended and add it to your cart. At checkout, enter your vet’s contact information, and we’ll reach out to request approval. Once the prescription is verified, your order is processed and shipped directly to your door. You’ll receive updates as your order moves through each step. There’s no need to handle extra paperwork or phone calls. Our team manages those details so you can focus on your pet.


How long does it take to process and ship pet prescriptions?

Once your veterinarian approves the prescription, most orders are processed within 24 to 48 hours. Shipping times depend on your location and the selected delivery method, but tracking is always provided for convenience. If there’s a delay in receiving authorization, we’ll contact your vet and keep you updated throughout the process. Orders placed during weekends or holidays may take slightly longer to ship. We work hard to move things along quickly, while maintaining accuracy and communication every step of the way.


How do I check the status of an order?

You can check the status of your order and reference shipment tracking numbers by logging into your account on our website and clicking on the "Orders" section. You will also receive a shipment confirmation email once your order has shipped.


Why hasn’t my order shipped yet?

Occasionally your vet may take longer than expected to respond to our prescription authorization requests. We will notify you of any delays or issues during this process and will contact you if any additional information is needed.


Can I refill my pet’s prescription through your website?

Yes. If your prescription has remaining refills authorized by your veterinarian, you can request a refill directly through your PetPawsRx account. Just log in, view your previous orders, and select the item you’d like to reorder. If refills have expired, we’ll reach out to your vet for a renewal. You’ll receive updates throughout the process. Refilling this way helps keep treatments on track, avoid lapses in treatment, and keep your pet’s care consistent.

What shipping methods do you offer and much do you charge?

For Orders over $49+:

  • Standard Ground: FREE
  • 2 Day Air up to 5 lbs: $20.00
  • Next Day Air up to 5 lbs: $40.00


For Orders under $49:

  • Standard Ground: $5.99
  • 2 Day Air up to 5 lbs: $20.00
  • Next Day Air up to 5 lbs: $40.00


All orders placed Monday through Friday before 2:00 CST will be shipped the same day (except for prescription orders which must be verified).



Payments & Billing


When will I be charged for my purchase?

Your payment method will be charged the day your order has shipped. Prior to shipment, you may notice an “authorization hold” or a “pending charge” on your credit card statement. This is not an actual charge but a temporary hold that ensures the payment can be processed when your order ships.
